Parkour is a safe and fun space to learn about why and how we can follow Jesus. Our team is genuinely interested in teaching the bible and seeing the youth grow and mature in their faith.

A typical night at Parkour Youth Group includes playing active games, reading the bible together, hearing a short bible talk from a youth group leader, having a time for questions and sharing supper together.

When: Each Friday night during school term from 7:00PM-8:30PM

Where: Newington Public School, Newington Blvd, Newington

Who: Youth of Auburn, Newington and surrounding suburbs from Year 6 to Year 12 (with yr 5’s welcome to join in Term 4 each year). All youth are welcome, whether they are a committed Christian or just starting to learn about Jesus.

About our parkour youth leaders

Our Parkour Youth Group leaders meet the minimum requirements of safe ministry standards. We are keen to get to know the parents of Parkour Youth. Please do come and say hello to the leaders during pick-up and drop-off!

ABE

Abe wants to see young people come to know Jesus and grow in zeal and maturity. He has had the privilege of discipling and mentoring young people at his old church. Abe’s in his first year at Moore College. Previously he worked as a mathematician. Abe’s wife is Rach, his son is Sam and his cat’s called Sima Qian!

Fun food item to take to a deserted island: Sashimi. But honestly, would I even need to bring it if I can catch my own there? Though to be realistic, I don’t have the skills!

Leanne

Leanne hopes to see the youth live boldly for Jesus and help nurture their curiosity and eagerness to know God more. During the week, Leanne works as an Occupational Therapist and enjoys baking cinnamon scrolls in her spare time.

Fun food item to take to a deserted island: mango - so that I can plant the seed and grow more mango trees!

YELENA

Yelena is keen to share about Jesus’ love and encourage youth to get to know Him more. During the week Yelena is a Campaigns and Policy Advisor at a consumer advocacy organisation.

Fun food item to take to a deserted island: Medovik (honey cake)

HANNAH

Hannah loves seeing teenagers get to know who Jesus is and how he changes their life. She works at Auburn Anglican Church as a Kids and Youth worker and studies at Youthworks College.

Fun food item to take to deserted island: Coffee. I know it's not food but I need it anyway. Definitely coffee.

BEN

Ben loves to tell people from every background about Jesus, and finds teaching and getting alongside youth a special privilege. There's surely nothing better to do on a Friday night!

Ben is one of the Pastors at Auburn and Newington Wentworth Point Anglican Churches.

Fun food item to take to a deserted island: Durian (controversial, but had to be said!)
